Media software: Quicktime and iTunes

This is first class software from Apple. There are two software packages described on this page and they can both be downloaded freely from Apple.com.
QUICKTIME
Quicktime is a suite of software for Macintosh and Windows computers which will them to play audio and video files. Quicktime has been around for years and is one of Apple's success stories. It is the core software which we would recommend installing on any computer, because it will enable the playback of movies and audio files not easily supported by other software.
Just follow the instructions on Apple's website and it should be installed on your computer quite simply.
You do NOT need to purchase Quicktime Pro to play the audio on the Bible4Today website. During the installation process, you will be asked for your registration details, but this can be ignored - just click the NEXT button. You only need to enter these details if you have purchased the PRO version of Quicktime.
iTUNES
iTunes is a new program, also from Apple, which a fantastic tool for handling all of the audio files on your computer (and much more) It can be downloaded freely from the Apple website, just like Quicktime. In fact, the two can be downloaded together.
You do NOT need to download iTunes to play the audio on this website. However, it is possible to 'stream' the MP3 files by entering the file address manually (in the Advanced menu, Open Stream).
iTunes handles the RTSP protocol beautifully, but we couldn't get a hyperlink on our website to trigger the automatic launch of iTunes and the automatic streaming of the selected file. Therefore we couldn't recommend iTunes as our first choice, but we hope it may be possible in the future. iTunes is intended by Apple to be your personal and primary music file library manager and player, so perhaps support for streaming internet audio will never be a proirity.
